Spencer Krug co-founded the successful indie rock band Wolf Parade in 2003, alongside Arcade Fire one of the most important Canadian pop exports of the 00s. Krug also engaged in a number of partly conceptual, partly experimental solo projects. Examples include an organ album recorded as Moonface and a collaboration with the Finnish krautrock collective Siinai. He recently returned to the piano as a songwriter on “Julia with Blue Jeans On” – creating a remarkable distillate of old-school songwriting, a love story set to vocals and piano, overstated and melodramatic.
