Ella Zwietnig used to be a musician with Go Die Big City! and Florian Zwietnig was part of the Telekommander media group. Their joint UMA project was regarded as the European answer to Animal Collective, with the musician couple performing a much more relaxed version of avant pop on their latest album. Electropop songs with clear contours are carved out of the analogue beats, digital synth sounds, and pounding bass lines – concise but also playful, between Bauhaus and Berghain.
